Olivar de Can Credo 2015

Celler Credo -la marca de vins tranquils de Recaredo- has put on the market a limited edition of seven hundred and nine 500ml bottles of Olivar de Can Credo 2015 extra virgin olive oil, made using olives harvested from centuries-old trees on the margins of Can Credo’s vineyards.

The trees are cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods—certified by the Catalan Organic Farming Council (CCPAE) and the Demeter International Biodynamic Certification Agency—in line with Recaredo’s commitment to respect life in the ecosystem and ensure biodiversity while at the same time obtaining high-quality fruit that is rich in nuances. Olivar de Can Credo is a vintage extra virgin olive oil, made exclusively from arbequina olives, that seeks to convey the distinctive character of the Alt Penedès landscape and express its Mediterranean origin as authentically as possible.

Olives are selected when they are at an optimal point of ripeness to conserve their aromatic properties and most intense flavours. The 2015 harvest took place in two stages—from 28 to 30 October and from 4 to 6 November—and the olives were pressed on the same day they were harvested. Olivar de Can Credo is an unfiltered olive oil and may contain natural sediments as a result of the traditional production methods used. It is a limited production, and 5.5 kilos of olives were used to make every litre of oil.

Can Credo’s olive trees are cultivated without chemical herbicides or pesticides. Only natural treatments are used. Olivar de Can Credo is presented in a distinctive 500ml.

El rebost del Celler Credo
Both Olivar de Can Credo and the local chickpea variety known as cigronet de l’Anoia are Rebost del Celler Credo (“Celler Credo Pantry”) products. Celler Credo is the label used for the Recaredo team and family’s still wine project, which focuses on single-variety wines made from Xarel·lo grapes.
