Undisputed leader in sparkling wine category, Subtil 2008 awarded a score of 97 points

The Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate has given 2005 Turó d’en Mota de Recaredo the Spain’s highest-rated sparkling wine.

Falstaff magazine, which is distributed in Austria, Switzerland and Germany, has published a list of the ten best sparkling wines in the world. Among them is Recaredo Turó d’en Mota 2003, which received a score of 97 points.

The trade publication Vivir El Vino has awarded Recaredo Recaredo Reserva Particular 2005 its prize for Best Sparkling Wine of the Year.

Readers of the Guía de Vinos Gourmets have voted the terroir cava “Recaredo Brut de Brut 2006. Finca Serral del Vell” as the best sparkling wine of the year. It is asober, elegant terroir cava made with a blend of Xarel·lo and Macabeu.

Recaredo Reserva Particular 2004 has been recognised as Spain’s best sparkling wine in the Premios Verema 2015. The wine was described as “a fantastic wine that combines finesse, complexity, freshness and body”.

Starting with the 2006 vintage, Recaredo Brut de Brut has been made exclusively with Xarel·lo and Macabeu varieties from the Serral del Vell Estate.

Recaredo’s Turó d’en Mota is described by ‘Le Monde’ as representing “the best of cava”: a single vineyard planted in 1940, a single variety (Xarel·lo), and a clear intention to make a terroir sparkling wine that is capable of representing a small part of the landscape of Alt Penedès.

The AGED WITH CORK label, awarded by the European Confederation of Cork, symbolises the commitment to quality and sustainability that lies behind our use of cork stoppers in the ageing of all our sparkling wines.

Recaredo celebrated the 50th anniversary of its emblematic “Reserva Particular” cava accompanied by Sommelier Josep Roca and pianist Omar Sosa. Recaredo offered an exclusive tasting of six vintages of Recaredo Reserva Particular, drawn from the family wine collection (2001, 1999, 1996, 1993, 1991 and 1984).

Recaredo has received a 2010 Golden Acorn award for ‘the quality that results from closing the ageing process for it sparkling wines with cork stoppers’. The award, given by the Association of Cork Companies of Catalonia – AECORK, reflects the fact that Recaredo is one of the few winemakers in Catalonia that still opts to use cork in the process of second fermentation.
