The initiative involved the launch of two studies: <strong>ratpenats.org<\/strong>, which aims to learn about the distribution, ecology and role of bats as efficient natural insectivores; and a research project within the framework of the <strong>Catalan Butterfly Monitoring Scheme (CBMS)<\/strong>, which for more than 30 years has focused on gathering information about butterfly populations by conducting visual counts of adult specimens at points throughout Catalonia. The project has made it possible to design the <a href=\"https:\/\/mediambient.gencat.cat\/ca\/detalls\/Articles\/enp2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Catalan Living Planet Index<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cIn our society, which is very much based on smoke and mirrors, we should value relationships like the one between Celler Credo and the BiBio research group. The support provided by the winery and others has made it possible to set up a bat and butterfly monitoring network that\u2019s unique in Europe,\u201d<\/em> said <strong>Carles Flaquer, general coordinator and head of external relations at the Granollers Natural Science Museum.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cAt Recaredo and Celler Credo we believe the best way to make progress and get the best results is by combining talents and through honest collaboration with different actors with whom we share values and ideals. We\u2019re all proud to be recognised by an institution like the EMAS Club for our role in environmental conservation,\u201d<\/em> says Ferran Junoy, general manager of <strong>Celler Credo and Recaredo.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Collaborative_projects_give_rise_to_Celler_Credos_Ratpenat_and_Volaina_wines\"><\/span><strong>Collaborative projects give rise to Celler Credo\u2019s Ratpenat and Volaina wines <\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Celler Credo\u2019s philosophy is to work the land and create wines based on an approach that sees vineyard management as a relationship of equality between man and nature, based on respect and understanding. The two collaborations that the winery has participated in have led to the creation of two wines that form part of <strong>Celler Credo\u2019s Vida collection<\/strong>: <strong>Ratpenat (100% Macabeu)<\/strong> was created in 2013 as part of the partnership between the winery and the research group, aimed at supporting bat conservation in the vineyard ecosystem; and <strong>Volaina (100% Parellada)<\/strong> grew out of the study focusing on the role of butterflies as bio-indicators of landscape quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
