At Recaredo<\/strong> we\u2019re committed to using animal traction for ploughing the vineyard where our outstanding Tur\u00f3 d\u2019en Mota<\/a>\u00a0is born. We\u2019ve gone back to traditional horse-drawn ploughing in our vineyards with the aim to\u00a0reduce both carbon dioxide emissions and soil compaction.<\/p>\n

For\u00e7ut<\/strong> (Brawny<\/em>), a Spanish-Breton horse with a sorrel-coloured mane, is guided by ploughman Inacio<\/strong>. Together, their job is to work the 0.97-hectare Xarel\u00b7lo vineyard, planted in 1940, and other Recaredo’s Family vineyards located in the Bitlles Valley\u00a0Highlands, in the county of Alt Pened\u00e8s (Barcelona).<\/p>\n

Horse-drawn ploughing brings man into closer contact with the earth, allowing for a deeper, more sensitive understanding of the natural environment when working the land.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
