2022 Vintage
The 2022 harvest marked the acknowledgement of a new climate reality, with record temperatures and extreme drought. In the face of this challenge, we applied respectful viticulture techniques to retain water and preserve the vineyard’s vitality. It was the earliest harvest in our history: in just one month we picked five grape varieties. The result: healthy grapes of memorable expressiveness, a testimony to resilience and commitment to quality. “Produce at your own pace and without artifices” is the message we sought to convey to the vine.

Recaredo Intens embodies the chromatic intensity achieved by grapes in the Mediterranean region. A focus on authenticity yields a sparkling wine that is dry, lively and enticing, defining an essentially gastronomical style.
We cultivate our family-owned vineyards following the principles of biodynamic viticulture, a step beyond organic farming. At Recaredo, biodynamics enables us to produce wines rich in nuance, with great aging potential and a deep respect for the natural environment from which they originate.
We let plant cover grow spontaneously between the vines. This cover crop plays a crucial role loosening the soil, regulating water retention and drainage (essential in a dry farming system), and helping to foster biodiversity.Infusions of plants are applied to the vines to control the presence of fungus in the vineyard and strengthen the vine’s defences.
Production
Winemaking and ageing on our estate
We are winegrowers. We vinify, produce, and carry out the long aging of 100% of our bottles on our family estate, as part of a firm commitment to ensuring the integrity of our grape origins and the utmost transparency in our production processes.
We are firmly committed to using natural cork stoppers during the bottle aging of each and every one of our Corpinnat wines. Cork is a sustainable, recyclable material, and it plays a crucial qualitative role in preserving the original character of long-aged wines at Recaredo. The final riddling of the bottles is done by hand—each bottle carefully turned daily on traditional pupitres.
We’re keeping alive the craft of the “disgorger” – the art of manually expelling the lees after the second fermentation in the bottle. At Recaredo, skilled craftsmen disgorge every bottle by hand at the naturally cool temperature of our cellars, a method that respects both the long aging process and the environment.

Loyalty to an origin
At Recaredo, every detail matters in expressing the true identity of our landscape. Since the 2017 harvest, we carry out the second fermentation in the bottle using our own organic must or organic concentrated must, replacing cane sugar with an ingredient that comes from our vineyards. This innovative approach brings us even closer to the essence of terroir wines, respecting the uniqueness of our winegrowing region.
In 2020, we took a decisive step after more than twenty years of research: to carry out both the first and second fermentations of all our Corpinnat sparkling wines with our own vineyard yeasts. A strong commitment to purity and the genuine expression of our environment.

2017 Vintage Description
A capriciously dry summer with remarkable heat waves lends character to a vintage blessed by spring and autumn rains. Nature shows its harshest face in early June. Apart from blisteringly hot days and a scarcity of water, we must cope with the fallout of an extremely drought-affected harvest in 2016, which reduces budding and results in an average harvest of very low yields.
The health of the grapes is outstanding and allows us to obtain musts of great purity and definition, the key to making wines for laying down that will be the end result of our love for a landscape, for the land we work.

2018 Vintage Description
After several vintages marked by drought, we stop looking up at the sky in anticipation of the long-awaited rain. The abundance of water in spring turns vineyard work into an exciting challenge: the land demands precise, rigorous, and methodical efforts to prevent issues such as mildew.
Thanks to the continuous observation by the viticulture team, we avoid any significant impact, and the vines teach us a lesson in adaptation, offering the very best of themselves.
We finish the manual harvest satisfied with the decisions made, with grapes of great purity and excellent sanitary condition.

2019 Vintage Description
The 2019 vintage reflects an exuberant and demanding harvest notable for the excellent health of the grapes and the quality of the indigenous varieties we grow.
With the memory of abundant autumn rains, and after an especially cold, dry winter, spring comes and Recaredo’s vineyards gradually awaken and begin to teem with life. The buds break later than usual, but showers in March and April allow the plants to grow with exceptional vigour. Summer brings occasional heat waves, with record temperatures of over 40 °C. Fortunately, our vineyards aren’t adversely afected: the good vegetative development of the plants shields the grapes from the sun’s harsh rays.

2020 Vintage Description
Record-breaking year for rainfall. The Penedès county recorded rainfall of over 800 l/m2 in the 2019/20 wine year, well above the historical average of around 520 l/m2.
Abundant winter rains provide good water reserves for the vines, but frequent storms up to the beginning of summer lead to a serious outbreak of downy mildew, creating a situation never seen before in the Penedès region and reminding us that nature – living, vibrant and authentic – always has new lessons to teach us.

2021 Vintage Description
No vintage is ever the same as the previous one. And 2021, in particular, brought us mixed feelings. It’s the dream vintage, precise, perfect, with healthy grapes and extraordinary expressiveness. It was a year in which nature was not generous with rainfall, especially in spring, which led us to lose 35% of the expected production for 2021, harvesting an average of 4,700 kg of grapes per hectare.
