- Nine renowned wineries will share the stage with Cuban pianist Omar Sosa in a unique concert-tasting that revives the spirit of the legendary Monvínic Experience.

As part of the 2025 Barcelona Jazz Festival, on Tuesday, November 25 at 7:30 pm, Aclam Club Barcelona will host “Omar Sosa & The Wine Experience”, a one-of-a-kind sensory encounter bringing together nine outstanding winemakers and one of the most inspiring pianists in contemporary jazz, in an event hosted by journalist and writer Empar Moliner.
The wineries Emilio Hidalgo (Jerez de la Frontera), Quinta da Muradella (CRDO Monterrei), Recaredo (Corpinnat), Pardas (DO Penedès), Mas d’en Gil (Priorat), Josep Queralt (Penedès), Nuria Renom (Penedès), Gramona (Corpinnat) and Mas Martinet (Priorat) will bring to life a unique dialogue between wine and music, where each glass will inspire a piece by Omar Sosa and each piece will reveal the soul of the wine.
The wines to be tasted include: La Panesa (Emilio Hidalgo), Gorvia Blanco 2019 (Quinta da Muradella), Turó d’en Mota 2012 (Recaredo), Collita Roja 2018 (Pardas), Maçanella 2022 (Mas d’En Gil), Nebbiolo 2006 (Josep Queralt), Isch! 2023 (Nuria Renom), Enoteca Gramona 2013 (Gramona) and the sweet rancio wine from Mas Martinet.
The event will feature the winemakers Juan Manuel Hidalgo, José Luis Mateo, Ton Mata, Jordi Arnan, Marta Rovira, Josep Queralt, Nuria Renom, Leo Gramona and Sara Pérez, who will share with the audience their reflections and emotions in response to the musical interpretation of their wines.
The legacy of the Monvínic Experience
This reunion revives the spirit of the Monvínic Experience of 2011, a visionary project created by Joan Anton Cararach and Sergi Ferrer-Salat, which transformed the way of experiencing the synaesthesia between music and wine, aiming to stir emotions in artists through oenology. Over the course of a decade, figures such as Chucho Valdés, Paolo Fresu, Barbara Hendricks, Andrea Motis, and Omar Sosa himself took part in those unforgettable evenings.
