Recaredo participates in Gérard Basset Foundation charity auction
The Gérard Basset Foundation has held the third edition of the Golden Vines Fine Wine, Rare Spirit & Experience Global Online Charity Auction, which offered over 100 lots from renowned wineries around the world. The event aims to raise funds to support selected beneficiaries committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in the wine, spirits and hospitality sectors by offering them the chance to take part in educational and professional courses. Providing opportunities for disadvantaged groups and minorities is a particular priority.
The charity auction ran for 15 days from 1 October 2023, with wineries offering large formats of their most iconic wines and a “money-can’t-buy” experience consisting of a private visit, a tasting, and a lunch or dinner with the owners or winemakers of each winery. Participating wineries included Dom Pérignon, Krug, Domaine Arnoux Lachaux, Domaine Leflaive, Domaine Jean-Yves Bizot, Domaine Hubert Lamy, or Vega Sicilia, among others.
Recaredo offers the 150th bottle of Enoteca 1999 from Turó d’en Mota
In this new edition, the Recaredo family of winegrowers has participated offering their new Corpinnat, launched a few weeks ago at the restaurant Celler de Can Roca, the Enoteca 1999 Turó d’en Mota. It is a Brut Nature made 100% from Xarel·lo grapes and aged for more than 23 years in bottle. This is a very limited edition of 150 bottles, all numbered, and the winery has earmarked the 150th bottle for the auction. With this new collection of enotecas, Recaredo reaffirms its commitment to quality, terroir sparkling wines that are capable of showcasing the distinctive characteristics of the Penedès region and the varieties that define its identity.
Thus, the winning bid for the 150th bottle of Enoteca 1999 from Turó d’en Mota de Recaredo was for a price of 1,765 euros.
Regarding the ‘money-can’t-buy’ experience, Recaredo offers a VIP visit for two people to the Recaredo vineyards and winery, which will be led by Ton Mata, Recaredo’s CEO and third generation member of the family, and includes a wine tasting accompanied by a meal where they will enjoy the most characteristic cuisine of the Penedès.

Gérard Basset OBE MS MW was one of only four people in the world to obtain the Master Sommelier and Master of Wine qualifications and was also awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE). During his lifetime, one of his main commitments was to mentor and guide young people seeking to launch careers in the wine and hospitality industries. Since his death in 2019, the Gérard Basset Foundation, set up by his family to honour his legacy, has continued to pursue this goal.
