Recaredo chosen as member of ‘La Renaissence des Appellations’
Recaredo has been selected as a new member of Renaissance des Appellations (Return to terroir), a group of 175 winegrowers from around the world whose mission is to ‘ensure the full expression of terroir’ and draw attention to the personality of wines distinguished by their originality and authenticity. Members of La Renaissance des Appellations must have cultivated their own vineyards for at least three years and used certified-organic, biodynamic practices for their entire crop for at least two years. Other requirements include the use of indigenous yeasts for primary fermentation and the exclusion of any genetically modified plants from vineyards.
For Recaredo, membership in the association is a recognition of our ongoing focus on respecting and conserving the environment and our determination to express the landscapes of Penedès Oriental through our wines in a way that’s honest and free of artifice. For the Recaredo family and team, it’s also an honour to share the La Renaissence des Appellations space with wineries we greatly admire, such as Humbrecht (Alsace) Leflaive (Burgundy), Nicolas Joly (Loire) , Benoít Lhaye and David Leclapart (Champagne), Mas Estela (Empordà), Esther Nin (Priorat) – another new member – and other winegrowers who make great terroir wines.
New members are chosen by the unanimous decision of a committee made up of renowned winemakers. Tasting committee:

• Philippe de Blicquy (Rhône)
• David Leclapart (Champagne)
