Recaredo included on list of Best Wineries of the Decade by AEPEV
- Members of the Spanish Association of Wine Journalists and Writers (AEPEV) award these distinctions based on the track record of the wineries.
Recaredo has been recognised as one of the “Best Wineries of the Decade” by the Spanish Association of Wine Journalists and Writers (AEPEV) at the latest Wine Communication Dinner, held in Madrid. The award, given to thirteen wineries from different wine regions out of a total of 150 nominees, aims to showcase the track records and work of winemakers who have received AEPEV awards, which are presented annually.
In the words of Josep Mata, a member of the third generation of the Recaredo family, “This recognition is the result of the bold decisions we’ve taken at Recaredo in recent years, from our commitment to biodynamic viticulture to our efforts to preserve the tradition of long ageing with natural cork stoppers in all our production and our use of organic must for second fermentations.”
The list of top wineries is determined by compiling data on awards given by the AEPEV over the last decade and has been endorsed by its 175 members, including associates, media outlets and collaborating entities. Wines and wineries are proposed by journalists and critics; wineries and wine institutions do not nominate aspirants and are not involved in the selection process.
Over the last ten years, Recaredo’s Corpinnat wines have been selected by the AEPEV on six occasions, with Reserva Particular and Turó d’en Mota achieving particularly impressive results. Recaredo is a family winery specialising in brut nature style Corpinnat wines made from grapes grown in family vineyards cultivated in accordance with the tenets of organic and biodynamic viticulture. With a history that goes back nearly a century, Recaredo is committed to ageing its wines for more than 30 months and for 15 years or longer in the case of its most special collections.
