Turó d’en Mota 2005: among Best Wines of Spain 2017 according to AEPEV
The Spanish Association of Journalists and Writers of Wine (AEPEV) has chosen Turó d’en Mota 2005 as one of the Best Wines of Spain 2017 in the category of sparkling wines. It is an ex aequo recognition granted from a double round vote in which most of the AEPEV members have participated. They had to decide between the 655 brands proposed in the first phase of the contest, of which only a total of 127 wines and 42 spirits managed to pass to the final stage.
About Turó d’en Mota
Turó d’en Mota, a sparkling wine distinguished by its elegance and simplicity, is made from grapes of a single variety, from a single vineyard and vintage, with production limited to just 3984 bottles. It’s a terroir wine in the broadest sense: Xarel·lo grapes from vines grown in highly calcareous soil in a Mediterranean microclimate, based on an approach to viticulture that stresses observation over intervention. Long, careful ageing – at least 120 months on the lees – limited production and complex nuances that express the passage of time.
