Recaredo Brut de Brut 2006, 100% single-estate

Starting with the 2006 vintage, Recaredo Brut de Brut has been made exclusively with Xarel·lo and Macabeu varieties from the Serral del Vell Estate (county of the Alt Penedès, Barcelona). Our extremely calcareous soils, the microclimate of the Serral del Vell hillock, and the dry farming system we practise confer an unmistakable character on each Recaredo Brut de Brut harvest.  No pesticides or herbicides are used: only elements of natural origin.

Harvesting is done completely by hand to maintain the properties of the grapes used for this long-aged sparkling wine. Vinification, winemaking and ageing are carried out entirely in our cellars, located in the historic town of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. All the Xarel·lo grapes are fermented in oak barrels.

2006 vintage

The Mediterranean character is strongly expressed in the form of moderate but irregular rainfall throughout the wine year. Precise execution of viticulture work is crucial so the vines can recover from the extreme cold of winter and withstand high summer temperatures. The crop is carefully monitored during the harvest period to detect early ripening of the grapes. The result is an extremely high level of expressiveness and an unprecedented freshness that guarantees excellence in a long-aged sparkling wine.
