Recaredo renews the Biosphere sustainability certification
It is a sustainable tourism certification that is aimed at contributing to the development and promotion of more sustainable and environmentally friendly activities that are also more socially and culturally enriching.
Recaredo, in its commitment to follow an integrated sustainable management model, has renewed for the sixth consecutive year the Biosphere certificate, issued for the first time in 2017. This distinction recognizes the commitment acquired by the winery during 2022 in the customers visits to be sustainable and responsible, in line with its philosophy as biodynamic vinegrowers and winemakers. The seal, awarded by the Responsible Tourism Institute, certifies sustainable consumption and production patterns, promotes ethical and inclusive growth, and focuses tourism activity on the authenticity of the product offered, ensuring that it meets standards of environmental and sociocultural sustainability.
Biosphere certification is based on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals integrated into the 2030 Agenda. It also follows the guidelines and recommendations of the World Charter for Sustainable Tourism +20, which is supported by COP21, UNESCO and the World Tourism Organization.
Biosphere, a commitment to sustainability in the customer visits
It is a monitoring programme that is renewed annually and supervised by the Responsible Tourism Institute. The programme ensures a commitment on the part of members to adopt and comply with principles such as promoting the economic and social development of the local community, conserving and improving cultural heritage, protecting the landscape, combating climate change, and using and managing resources in an efficient way.
To be granted Biosphere certification, companies must submit supporting documents and ensure tracking of good practices aimed at achieving energy efficiency, saving water, and minimizing the use of resources, among others.
