After 15 years of ageing, Enoteca 2004 de Reserva Particular pays a
tribute to the time and to old vineyards of the Penedès region
The Recaredo Family and Team present Enoteca 2004 de Reserva Particular, a limited-edition Corpinnat Brut Nature (1,200 numbered bottles) that is emerging into the light after 15 years of careful ageing on the lees.
Initially intended for family celebrations, Enoteca de Reserva Particular wines reflect Recaredo’s commitment to the craftsmanship of terroir and the power of time to work its magic while preserving a unique identity shaped by a meticulous approach, hard work and passion tempered by patience. Enoteca 2004 de Reserva Particular is made using a blend of Macabeu (67%) and Xarel·lo (33%) grapes, harvested from old vineyards planted between 1950 and 1955.

A revolutionary idea
In 1962, Josep Mata Capellades, working closely with his sons, Josep and Antoni, made the first ‘Reserva Particular de Recaredo’ with the original idea of conveying the delicacy and complexity that a long-aged sparkling wine can achieve.
“The creation of Reserva Particular was a revolutionary idea in the 1960s,” said Antoni Mata. “At that time, there were no other long-aged brut nature sparkling wines. Reserva Particular was aged in oak barrels and showcased indigenous grape varieties of the Penedès region, which was uncommon at the time,” a member of the second generation of the Recaredo family explained.
As Recaredo approaches the centenary of its founding, the third generation of the family has picked up the baton and taken another step forward in Recaredo’s specialization in making sparkling wines marked by long ageing. “With Enoteca 2004, we want to demonstrate that an extremely long-aged sparkling wine can also be synonymous with freshness,” said Ton Mata, Recaredo’s oenologist and chief executive. “We see the Enoteca collection as a way to continue on and honour the path our grandfather and parents worked so hard to embark on in 1962,” he added.
2004, one of the great Penedès vintages
Enoteca 2004 Reserva Particular pays tribute to one of the most outstanding Penedès vintages. The wine year was marked by high rainfall (687 l/m2, compared to a historical average of 534 l/m2), moderate temperatures and particularly dry summer.

This Corpinnat Enoteca wine is kept in the darkness of Recaredo’s cellars for at least 185 months, and the entire ageing process is done using stoppers made of natural cork, a sustainable, recyclable material that also plays a vital role in preserving the character that Recaredo’s long-aged wines derive from their place of origin. The result is a complex wine with good length and a wealth of nuances, distinguished by aromas developed through long ageing, accompanied by a citrus and fruity background. The attack is smooth and delicate; the mid-palate, intense and flavourful, marked by lively and fresh notes.
